Our Story

OCD Wisconsin is a non-profit organization and affiliate of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), operated by an entirely volunteer-run board. Founded in 2012, our goal is to support the mission of the IOCDF in all communities throughout the state of Wisconsin. This is done by fostering a community for those affected by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and the professionals who treat them, providing and connecting those affected with resources, support and education, and raising awareness for OCD.

Our Vision

Our vision is that everyone impacted by OCD and related disorders, in the state of Wisconsin and beyond, has immediate access to effective treatment, resources, support, and community.

Our Mission

The mission of OCD Wisconsin is to ensure that no one affected by OCD and related disorders suffers alone, in the state of Wisconsin and beyond. Our community provides help, healing, and hope.

Our Pillars of Service

BUILD COMMUNITY

We bring together patients, families, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and educators to create a connected, empowered community for those impacted by OCD. Through community engagement and relationship-building, we foster a strong network of help, healing, and hope.

PROVIDE RESOURCES

We connect individuals to local clinician referrals, support group opportunities, and treatment scholarships to help ensure access to effective, evidence-based OCD care. Our resource repository strengthens the network of support available across Wisconsin.

SUPPORT & EDUCATION

Through initiatives like Fearless Family Camp, OCD Gamechangers events, and the OCD Wisconsin Symposium, we offer vital education, empowerment, and skill-building opportunities for individuals with OCD, their loved ones, and mental health professionals.

RAISE AWARENESS

From our One Million Steps for OCD Walks to programs like Anxiety in the Classroom and ongoing partnerships, we lead statewide efforts to break stigma, promote understanding, and increase visibility for OCD and related disorders.

Our Initiatives

Fearless Family Camp

Fearless Family Camp is the first overnight therapeutic camp for children with OCD and their parents. Across 4 days, FFC gives Wisconsin families struggling with OCD a chance for middle school-aged children to access structured group CBT with ERP programming. It provides a fun learning environment for the campers and parents/caregivers to empower the individual camper and the critical treatment team member with whom they live and learn.

Anxiety In The Classroom

Anxiety in the Classroom is a resource center created by the IOCDF for school personnel, students, and their families. We disseminate this resource across Wisconsin to provide useful information, resources, and materials about anxiety and OCD as they relate to the school setting across the state of Wisconsin. In addition, we offer specific tools for teachers, administrators, and other school personnel who may work with students with anxiety and/or OCD. Parents/caregivers and students can also find tools and information to help them advocate for school accommodations, as well as to educate their teachers and classmates about OCD and anxiety.

Why We Fundraise: Your Donations Make a HUGE Impact!

As a fully grassroots, volunteer-run, nonprofit organization, all of our programming and operations are entirely dependent on the generosity of supporters like you! We strive to create synergistic partnerships to provide visibility to your organization and a direct connection with our community. All funds raised through sponsorships, partnerships, and donations directly make OCD Wisconsin’s work possible in the following ways:

Our Programming

Your support makes all of our programming and initiatives possible by providing us the essential funds we need to put them on and making them accessible at free-to-low cost for those who need them the most.

Resources & Outreach

Your support provides us with the funds needed to provide resources to the Wisconsin OCD community, including treatment scholarships, educational scholarships, and educational & training opportunities for local clinicians. Your support also makes it possible for us to raise awareness and reach new populations.

Operational Overhead

Your support helps us with all essential costs to keep us operating, including website, phone number, online systems, legal and accounting fees, travel, event materials, insurance, telephone, P.O. Box, postage, and more.
